The Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law is hiring legal fellows to start in 2021. The fellowship is designed to be a two-year position, though it can be structured as a one-year position pre-clerkship. The Institute is looking for highly qualified graduates with 0-3 years of experience post-JD and an interest in environmental and climate change law, environmental justice, administrative law, and regulatory policy. DOJ Honors Program – Environment & Natural Resources Division
The Attorney General’s Honors Program is Justice’s competitive, centralized recruitment program that is the only way for new attorneys (i.e., third-year law students and students who enter judicial clerkships, graduate law programs, or qualifying fellowships within 9 months of law school graduation) to enter Justice in an attorney position.
Attorneys in the Environment and Natural Resources Division can expect to become intimately and immediately involved in a wide variety of environmental litigation, personally handle settlement negotiations, travel across the country taking depositions and negotiating consent decrees, and assist senior attorneys in major cases.

Haub Law Environmental Law & Policy Hack Competition
The deadline to register for the first annual Elisabeth Haub School of Law Environmental Law & Policy Hack Competition is September 1, 2020, and team proposals are due on October 1, 2020.
The final round judges will include Prof. Shelby Green (Haub Law) and Prof. Julie Cheslik (UMKC Law School). The three finalist teams will present via Zoom on Friday, November 13 beginning at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern).
The competition seeks to help students recognize and develop the connections between law and policy; catalyze the conceptualization and implementation of creative and thoughtful solutions to pressing environmental problems; encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement; and further Haub Law’s commitment to advancing environmental protection through student-centered policy development and implementation. Midwest Environmental Advocates – legal fellowships
Midwest Environmental Advocates, which uses litigation, community organizing,and advocacy to fight for clean air, water, and open government in Wisconsin, is now accepting applications for candidates interested in seeking post-graduate legal fellowships funded through a law school or other sources to commence in the fall of 2021, although an earlier fellowship start date will be considered.

4th National Young Energy Professionals’ Law Conference
The 4th National Young Energy Professionals’ Law Conference is back. This live online program consists of select sessions that were originally scheduled for the 4th National YEP Conference in Austin, Texas, before it was cancelled due to COVID-19. This conference is designed primarily for energy attorneys and other professionals under 40 years of age. The online conference features networking opportunities with other young energy professionals and IEL leadership, quality CLE with a focus on energy law, and professional development programming.
Case Studies in the Environment – Prize Competition
The editors of Case Studies in the Environment are pleased to announce the Fourth Case Studies in the Environment Prize Competition, offering a $2,000 prize for best environmental case study, as well as two $500 honorable mention prizes. Deadline for submissions: November 15, 2020.

Be sure to submit your Article Case no later than November 15, 2020. Winners will be notified in spring 2021, or sooner if all eligible entries have reached final decision. 25th Annual Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition
They’ve released the record for the 25th Annual Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition. This year’s problem involves wind farms and bats. Registration is open for the North American Rounds, which will be held virtually January 8-9, 2021.
There will be national and regional rounds held in Central Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Brazil, Ireland and the UK, and India (with others to come). We expect that many will be held virtually as well. If you are interested in serving as a judge in these rounds (for memorials or oral arguments), please let me know and we’ll put you in contact with the organizers.
The top teams will be invited to the International Finals, which will be held March 25-27, 2021. Rodrigo Medellín, known as the Bat Man of Mexico, helped develop the problem and will serve as one of the final round judges.
The deadline to register is October 2, 2020, and the Competition Committee may limit the number of teams that can participate in the regional, so please register as soon as possible. Please contact Erin Okuno (okuno@law.stetson.edu) with any questions.
The National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition
Registration is now open! Instituted in 1989, The Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition is the largest interschool moot court competition of any kind under one roof, regularly attracting 200 competitors from law schools from all over the nation.
