Another color study, this time a little more formal and using my own photo to paint from. This one took about 5 hours of work, but was well-worth it given the atmosphere the color matching gives me. I’m very happy with this one, though it’s only a 5″x7″ painting.

I painted this too fast, if I’m being honest. But I was happy with the outcome so I kept going, though the tree line could have been a lot better.

I decided to limit my color pallet in this painting to only 8 tubes of paint, and force myself to take a refresher in Color Theory by mixing my own paint. I didn’t have any expectations of the results, but was ultimately happy with what I got out of it.
