Bio

I’m an Associate Professor in the Sociology Department and the Director for the Center for the Study of Religion and Society. I’m also a faculty affiliate of the Center for the Study of Social MovementsInstitute for Latino Studies, and Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. I teach and engage in research in the areas of collective behavior/social movements, civic engagement/volunteerism, and the sociology of religion, especially congregation-based mobilizing.
