Kristin, at left, during the pupfish species count at Nevada’s Devil’s Hole, near the proposed Yucca Mountain High-Level-Nuclear-Waste Repository. During between-dives hikes, she discovered several groundwater-fed, desert springs—evidence against the dominant government claim that the below-ground repository would be safe, “dry for millennia.”
