Statement of Appropriate Conduct at MWNADay 2026
MWNADay 2026 is dedicated to fostering a professional, respectful, and inclusive environment where all participants—undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, speakers, panelists, staff, and volunteers—can engage and benefit fully. Our event is committed to being free from harassment and discrimination, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity, religion, or other group identity.
The conference aims to create an environment where diverse participants can learn, network, and collaborate in a spirit of mutual respect. To maintain this atmosphere, all attendees share the responsibility of upholding these standards. The following behaviors are expressly prohibited:
- Harassment or intimidation based on race, religion, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, or other group status.
- Sexual harassment or intimidation, including unwelcome sexual attention, stalking (whether physical or virtual), or unsolicited physical contact.
- Threatening or disruptive behavior toward speakers, whether verbal, physical, or virtual, including yelling or making threats.
These rules apply to all conference settings, including meeting rooms, online interactions, and social events. Participants are expected to immediately cease any behavior deemed hostile or harassing upon request. All presentations, videos, and screen shares must remain free of harassment or inappropriate content at all times. MWNADay is an opportunity for learning, networking, and collegial engagement—please contribute to this environment responsibly and respectfully.
If you experience or witness behavior inconsistent with this policy, we encourage you to report it to MWNADay 2026 local organizers via email at mwnaday2026@nd.edu, or to any member of the MWNADay steering or organizing committee with whom you feel comfortable. Reports will be addressed promptly and confidentially, with action taken only if desired by the individual reporting the incident.
All reports will be directed to the Office of Institutional Equity at the University of Notre Dame. This office will assess the situation, determine appropriate actions, and may involve other university personnel or legal counsel as needed. By working together, we can ensure that MWNADay 2026 remains a positive and enriching experience for all. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to these values.
