The Quantum Matter Spectroscopy Lab at the University of Notre Dame investigates emergent quantum phenomena in correlated and topological materials.

Our research seeks to understand how interactions among electrons, spins, and the crystal lattice give rise to collective quantum behavior. By combining advanced optical spectroscopies with inelastic scattering techniques, we develop and apply novel experimental methods to probe collective excitations and nonequilibrium dynamics across multiple energy, length, and time scales. These approaches enable us to uncover the microscopic origins of macroscopic quantum phenomena and explore new ways to control quantum states with light.
