This is a talk I gave on the philosophy of education at the University of St. Thomas, Houston. I was invited to speak on a panel organized by Ryan Miller, entitled “Thomas Aquinas on Teaching and Learning,” for their CELT Circle monthly meeting organized for the purpose of professional development. The slides for my presentation can be found here.
This is a summary of my paper ‘Joy, Truth, and the Search for God in Confessions X,’ which I presented to my high school students at Bishop O’Connell High School in 2020.
I wrote the text to this meditative piece on the Agony in the Garden, which was set to music by my student Matthew Brown. Matthew has recently graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in Music Composition.
