Dock Leveler Instructions:
The dock leveler is a machine that allows for semi trailers to hook up for easy loading and unloading of cargo. The following is the sequence of operations:
- Step 1
- Check that the transport vehicle is positioned squarely against dock bumpers
- Inside Light Red
- Outside Light Green
- Check that the transport vehicle is positioned squarely against dock bumpers
- Step 2
- To engage restraint depress RESTRAIN button and verify secure engagement to Rear Impact Guard (R.I.G.)
- Inside Light Green
- Outside Light Red
- If Restraint does not engage RIG:
- Inside Light Red and Alarm Sounds
- Outside Light Red
- If OVER-RIDE Mode is Required:
- Turn selector switch to over-ride
- Inside Light Green and Red
- Outside Light Red
- Secure transport vehicle by other means
- Turn selector switch to over-ride
- To engage restraint depress RESTRAIN button and verify secure engagement to Rear Impact Guard (R.I.G.)
- Step 3
- Position dock leveler (If Equipped)
- Step 4
- When loading/unloading is complete return leveler to stored position
- Step 5
- To release restraint depress the RELEASE button, lights change
- Inside Light Red
- Outside Light Green
- If in OVER-RIDE Mode, reset is accomplished by:
- Returning selector switch back to NORMAL
- Return barrier to stored position
- Unsecure transport vehicle
- To release restraint depress the RELEASE button, lights change
