Duncan Student Center Loading Dock Garage Parking Policy

There is no parking. There has been a special area laid out for people to unload for 15 mins (during non game days/special events). It is important to note that if cars are not parked in a marked location, it will be ticketed and towed.

After unloading all delivery vehicles should be moved to an appropriate parking location. No vehicle should remain parked at any of the Stadium Complex unloading zones. All vehicles unloading in these locations should have acquired a ‘Sidewalk Access Permit’ from the Notre Dame Parking Office. Once unloaded, vehicles left unattended in these areas are in violation of the University’s Pedestrian Safety Policy and may be ticketed or towed.

There are four parking spots located on the western wall of the Duncan Student Center Dock. Vehicles can be parallel parked for 15 minutes for access.
Here are five 15 minute load in and load out spots located near the entrance of Duncan Student Center.
This area is a No Parking zone. This area is designated as an exit path, part of the Emergency Action Plan, to keep this area clear. No parking is permitted here at any time.

Semi Traffic Patterns

With the DSC Dock being laid out as it is, the semi trucks that arrive for delivery and pick up need as much space as possible when pulling in. Here is what the usual space needed for a semi truck entering and exiting the dock landing.

Dock Access via the Intercom System

  • Drivers seeking admittance into the dock garage will use the intercom system to reach the dock office phone via the ‘call button.’
  • It is imperative that drivers pull all the way up to the gate arm when making the call.
  • Drivers who do not pull close enough to the gate arm run the risk of the gate arm’s magnetic mechanism not detecting the vehicle and therefore the gate arm will not rise properly.
  • This system has a camera that allows the dock guard to see who is requesting access.
  • This system will only allow one vehicle at a time.
  • The driver should only push the call button once to make the call, any extra time will result in the dock guard calling the gate arm.
