Ricardo graduated from the Integrated Biomedical Sciences PhD program here at Notre Dame where he researched the role of CXCL5 in breast cancer metastasis to bone. He received his bachelor’s degree in Genomic Sciences from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). After college, he worked at UCSF as a bioinformatician in the Neurology Department. In the White Lab, Ricardo wants to combine his computation and experimental background to investigate how changes in pHi shape the mutational landscape of cancer.
Ricardo is originally from Mexico City and in his free time he can be found with his roommate and their dog Auggie. He also enjoys practicing archery, traveling, and home brewing.
