Chapter 2: Splash Landing, Part 1: Finding Answers in Teeth and Skull Morphology

Dr. Bass introduces types of identification techniques in forensic anthropology, including DNA testing and dental identification. This chapter is part one of two about a case of a plane crash in a river. Dr. Bass was able to identify a skull found in the river by dental identification and some unique skull features. However, the remnants of the plane crash and the passenger were nowhere to be found.  This is revisited later in the book with higher-tech forensic anthropology methods.
