“The medium is the message” (Marshall McLuhan) – we can’t separate the form of a medium from the way we perceive the content it carries. If we focus too much on the message we don’t realize that the medium itself is affecting us. In this video, McLuhan elucidates.

Production Stages

  1. Pre-Production – plan your project. Get ready to record or shoot. Line up talent and resources. Scout locations and reserve a studio.
  2. Production – make a recording, take photos, or capture footage. Capture b-roll,  find additional images, identify a soundtrack.
  3. Post-Production – edit the raw media. Apply fixes. Mix in music, titles, images. and other elements. Deliver the result – posted online, presented in public, etc.
