Scott “Scooter” Russell, D. A.
Information Technology Director

Scott Russell serves as the IT Director for the College of Arts & Letters providing leadership, vision, oversight, and management of the information technology needs of the College. He first worked at Notre Dame as an IT Support Engineer/Consultant from 2004 to 2010, first for the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center and then for the College of Arts & Letters. Scooter has also previously served as the Director of IT for the Western Michigan University Libraries and as the Director of IT for The Art of Education University. He has presented at regional and national conferences, holds several industry certifications, and serves as EDUCAUSE Institute Faculty.

Scooter’s formal education includes degrees in music performance from Ball State University (Doctor of Arts), the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (M.M.), and Butler University (B.A.). He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Information Systems Management from Grand Valley State University.

When he’s not on campus, Scooter enjoys spending time at home in Kalamazoo, MI with his wife Carol, son Lucca, and cats Kammie and Cheeto. He volunteers and his church and as volunteer sailing crew on Friends Good Will, and has previously served as President of the Board for the Crescendo Academy of Music in Kalamazoo.

Josh Bennett
IT Solutions Consultant, Social Sciences

Josh Bennett joined the Arts & Letters team as a IT Solutions Consultant in May 2022 with a focus on the Social Sciences. He enjoys working with faculty and staff to find the best solutions to meet their needs.

Josh has been in the Granger/Mishawaka area for most of his life and loves spending time with his family, weight lifting, and woodworking. You should also ask Josh about his Youtube channel and consider subscribing (JB Woodworking).

Nate Krakowski
IT Solutions Consultant, Humanities

Nate Krakowski has served the College of Arts & Letters as an IT Solutions Consultant since 2019. In that capacity, he has enjoyed meeting with faculty and staff to explore creative solutions for teaching, research, and process improvement. Learning about and supporting faculty in their passion projects is often the highlight of Nate’s work day. He serves as the primary consultant for the Humanities.

Nate is a native of the South Bend/Mishawaka area and loves working in higher education, hiking, and spending time with his family. His hobby is acquiring hobbies, and Nate will happily talk about board games, film and television, and any number of crafty projects for hours on end.

Dan Lewis
IT Solutions Consultant, Arts

Dan Lewis has been with the Arts & Letters Computing Office since 2023 as an IT Solutions Consultant where he serves as the primary point of contact for the Arts.

Prior to joining the ALCO team, Dan was a Customer Success Advocate for Typeform where he focused on their VideoAsk product. As a Customer Success Advocate Dan worked to ensure the users he worked with were achieving their goals and more with the products he supported. He also worked as Project Manager for BX Films, a video production company focused on story-led marketing campaigns. Working at Apple, studying graphic design, and leading a team focused on slate roof repair are among other noteworthy aspects of his career.

Dan lives in Mishawaka with his wife and two children. Outside of work you will find him exploring the outdoors with his family, often on a mountain bike or with an analog camera around his neck.

Ryan Maure
Systems Operation Manager

Ryan Maure serves as the Systems Operations Manager for the College of Arts and Letters.

Ryan joined the University in 2016 serving as an IT consultant for the School of Architecture. He moved to the College of Arts and Letters Computing Office in September of 2017. When he is not at work, you will find him spending time with his family.

Dan Napier
IT Support Technician

Dan Napier joined the Arts & Letters team in 2023 as an IT Support Technician focusing on break/fix support.

Prior to joining ALCO, Dan was an IT Technician for Niles Community Schools where he worked for over ten years assisting with a wide variety of IT-related tasks and projects. Dan also worked for the Whirlpool Corporation as an Image Technician where he managed a fleet of 1,500 devices. Outside of work, Dan loves to go hiking and running with his wife and daughter.

Eli Ragland
IT Support Technician

Eli Ragland joined the Arts & Letters team in the summer of 2022 and serves as an IT Support Technician with the primary focus on break/fix support. He also assists with purchasing and ordering. 

Eli loves to assist with a variety of issues and enjoys teaching users how to use their technology. Other than technology, he will also engage in conversation about biology, photography and PC gaming.

Dave Klawiter
Senior IT Solutions Specialist

Dave Klawiter serves as the Senior Systems Engineer for the Creative Computing Group. In this role, he manages all of the computing equipment in spaces that serve the Arts. This includes facilities in Riley Hall of Art, West Lake Hall and the Performing Arts Center. He also is the mastermind behind the College of Arts and Letters FileMaker Pro database system that is used to manage all of the business processes within the College of Arts and Letters.

Dave joined the University in 1991 and was one of the inaugural members of the College of Arts and Letters Computing Office at its inception. If you ask Dave about his family, you will find that he has hosted a large number of exchange students from all over the world. He continues to keep in contact with all his “host kids” no matter where their adventures take them.
