Just a reminder that there will be no Bandlink lessons this Sunday or next Sunday (November 13 and 20). The final Sunday of lessons will be November 27th, with the Winter Concert the following Sunday, December 4.

Axiom Brass Quintet
On Monday, Returning Band members got a special treat – a visit from the Axiom Brass Quintet! The group played several pieces, and answered questions from the class.
The quintet was the 2010 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition winner, and will be performing on the ND campus this Friday. More information can be found at these links: http://www.axiombrass.com and http://www.performingarts.nd.edu
Bandlink Calendar Update
There are 2 updates to the Bandlink calendar that are different from what was originally scheduled:
Sunday, November 20 – No Lessons (ND Band in Performance at Compton Family Ice Arena)
Sunday, November 27 – (Sunday after Thanksgiving) Bandlink will be held for all who can attend. This was originally not a scheduled Bandlink date.
Bandlink T-Shirt Orders due 10/26
Just a reminder that Bandlink t-shirt order forms and money are due by Wednesday, October 26th.
Shirts are royal blue and feature the ND monogram, and are available short and long-sleeved. More details can be found on the order form at the link below.
No Bandlink October 15-22
Just a reminder that there will be no lessons or full band rehearsals between October 15 and 22 due to Notre Dame Fall Break. Bandlink will resume with lessons on Sunday, October 23.
City of Tomorrow Woodwind Quintet
Beginning Band had a special treat today in class – a performance by The City of Tomorrow Woodwind Quintet! This group of professional musicians was the 2011 Fischoff Grand Prize Winner in the Winds division.
Along with performing for the class, they also talked about each instrument, demonstrated what each sounds like, and answered questions from the class. Everyone had a great time!
Bandlink is Underway!
Bandlink is underway for the 2011-2012 school year! Just a reminder to parents of the normal rehearsal schedule:
Sundays – 6:30-7:30 pm – Lessons at Holy Cross Elementary
Mondays – 3:25-4:25 pm – Returning Band at Christ the King
Wednesdays – 3:25-4:25 pm – Beginning Band at Christ the King
Parents – please remember that signed handbook and SAO forms are due back by Monday, October 3. You can return them to the Bandlink directors during full band or private lessons.
Bandlink Reminders
Just a reminder that the Beginning Band parent meeting is today (Sunday) at 4:30 pm at the Ricci Band Rehearsal Hall on the Notre Dame campus. Hope to see many of you there!
Returning Band members – make sure you have filled out the information form under the ‘Returning Members’ section. We will use this information to pair you with a mentor this fall.

Spring Concert Tuesday
The Bandlink Spring Concert is Tuesday, May 3 at Washington Hall on the Notre Dame campus. Returning Band call time is 6:00 and Beginning Band call time is 6:15. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm.
Parents, please bring a dessert to share at the post-concert reception.
