Welcome to Cryptography Working Group!

The Cryptography Working Group at Notre Dame began its journey with a simple yet profound question: “Is there something we can do about cryptography for the Notre Dame community?” This question was posed in 2023 by Henry Chimal-Dzul, whose vision sparked the group’s formation. Henry (https://sciences.utsa.edu/faculty/profiles/chimal-dzul-henry.html) brought together Catie Adamo (https://acms.nd.edu/people/catie-adamo/) and Taeho Jung(https://sites.nd.edu/taeho-jung/) to explore this possibility.

Since its inception, our group has focused on fostering an understanding of cryptography within the Notre Dame community through introductory seminar talks. We are a very loosely-maintained working group, driven by the shared interest of our members. Our primary activity currently revolves around hosting these seminars, which delve into various topics in the fascinating field of cryptography.

We are always eager to welcome new members! If you are interested in joining us to contribute to “something about cryptography for our community,” please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are open to new ideas and expanding our activities beyond seminar talks, and we would be thrilled to include you in our efforts to explore and share the world of cryptography.
