Admission requirements
Entry to the MEng program requires an undergraduate degree in any field of engineering or physical sciences. Students must apply online.
The following materials are required:
- Curriculum vitae
- Essay (approximately 1,000 words) regarding your personal motivation to pursue a professional engineering career
- At least three letters of recommendation
- Your choice of MEng specialty area (Structural, Environmental, or Construction Management)
The GRE exam is not required.
International students who prior degree programs were not instructed in English are required to submit the scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Apply online through Notre Dame’s online graduate application.
Early admission applications should be submitted by mid-December for a Fall program start.
Extended applications are recommended prior to mid-June for domestic students or mid-February for international students for a Fall program start.
Please reach out to the program director if you wish to start the program in the Spring semester.
