Why an asterisk? Well, after blogging about Commencement and Fr. Hesburgh’s birthday celebration in Washington, D.C., many of our favorite images from May have already been on the blog.
So even though several of those images would most likely be our favorites again, we thought we’d show you the top ten from the images we haven’t already talked about.
With one exception: Barbara Johnston’s fantastic photo of Cardinal Dolan showing off his cape. What a perfect moment that captures the Cardinal’s energy, sense of humor and connection with the Commencement audience. Just try to look at that photo and *not* have the “Batman” theme go through your head! (“NaNaNaNaNaNaNaNa-NaNaNaNaNaNaNaNa-BAT-MAAAAAN…”) So nice we’ll blog it twice.
Oh, and there was one other, shall we say, “electrifying” photo shot in the closing hours of May that will be the subject of its own blog…coming soon.

I would like to purchase a copy of the photo of the Basilica and Dome at Sunset. Please advise how I may do this. Thanks.
This “Top Ten” feature is great. Interesting images as usual. Please keep it up. I love the Physics professor portrait as it has an exceptional background and the Cardinal Dolan Batman pose. Hats off to Ms Johnson for that one, almost as memorable of her image of the parade of priests passing the reflecting pool a few commencements ago.
I assume July’s Top Ten will be posted in early August!
Once again, great imagery
That is our son, Joe, celebrating after receiving his Law Degree. (May 19 photo)
