James Andreoni is currently a Professor of economics at the University of California in San Diego. He holds a B.S. in economics from the University of Minnesota, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan. His current teaching portfolio includes public economics, experimental economics, microeconomic theory, and advanced economic theory. His research focuses on public economics (including philanthropic giving, fundraising, and altruism) as well as experimental research focused on altruism, trust issues, public goods, and gender differences in philanthropic behavior. Dr. Andreoni also serves as co-editor of the Journal of Public Economics.
