Girl Scout Day

Each year, SWE at Notre Dame hosts Girl Scout Day in partnership with local troops to introduce young girls to the exciting world of engineering. Throughout the day, the Girl Scouts explore various engineering disciplines—including mechanical, chemical, electrical, and civil—through hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity.

The event empowers girls in the South Bend community by showing them what a future in STEM can look like. Hearing from passionate women engineers gives the scouts inspiring role models and helps them envision themselves pursuing similar paths.

Girl Scout Day reaches over 60 participants annually and continues to be a fun, impactful experience for both the scouts and the SWE members involved.
