Emily McBiles

Emily earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Texas with a concentration in biology and Spanish. For her senior project, she performed analysis of carbohydrates using capillary electrophoresis. Emily’s academic studies included work in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and polymer chemistry.

She is currently working on her MS in Patent Law from the University of Notre Dame, with expected graduation in May 2015. As part of the MSPL program, she is working with faculty organic chemist Brandon Ashfeld and is writing a complete patent application for a polypharmacological therapy.

Emily taught high school chemistry, biology, and physics in Houston for three years. She also coached the high school swimming and water polo teams.

Being from a military family, she has lived throughout the United States. She is open to relocating after completion of the MSPL program.
