Dual luminescence imaging is able to capture time-resolved and spatially resolved temperature information of supercooled droplet icing.
Scientific question arises from heat transfer of the droplet on impacting on a surface. Because latent heat (heat creation) and heat absorption occur during the icing process, it is not known how these heat transfer occurs in time and spatial scales.
