Sam is a senior Mechanical Engineering major on the pre-med track, with a minor in Chemistry. He is from Eugene, Oregon. His favorite memory of Enable ND is building a bike for a kid who was not able to ride a traditional one. He can play the banjo!

Kolbe is a junior Electrical Engineering major, with a minor in Bioengineering. He is from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. His favorite memory of Enable ND is demoing the use of an electromyography muscle sensor with a volunteer on user day. He loves coffee and has recently taken up espresso making!

Simon is a sophomore double-majoring in ACMS and Neuroscience on the pre-med track, with a minor in Science/Patient Advocacy. He is from Spokane, Washington. His favorite memory of Enable ND is meeting a prospective user at last year’s User Day. Fun fact: he has perfect pitch!

Faculty Advisor: Dr. Patrick Wensing
Dr. Wensing joined the University of Notre Dame faculty in 2017 following a postdoctoral fellowship in the Biomimetic Robotics Lab at MIT. He holds a Ph.D. and B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. At Notre Dame, Dr. Wensing leads the ROAM Lab, where his research focuses on applied optimization, control theory, and dynamic robotic systems. His work centers on enhancing mobility through advanced control systems for legged robots and developing innovative human-machine interface technologies for assistive exoskeletons in rehabilitation. Outside the lab, Dr. Wensing serves as an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Robotics and enjoys running, cycling, and playing racquetball. We are lucky to have him!
