More disruption. Notwithstanding theĀ Aereo case, propping up a failing business model will not change customer demands or customer behavior.

It is significantly cheaper to buy services like Netflix, Apple TV, etc. than it is to pay for cable or dish monthly. Cable and satellite packages also mean that you are subscribing to hundreds of channels that never get more than a glance on the menu, so it is no surprise that young people are shying away from traditional television. I wonder if cable companies will do more than offer to stream shows on smartphones, iPads, and laptops. Other than with sporting events, the television programming experience is not in any significant way enhanced by watching on a television set. The market is ripe for a disruption!
