Loved this post! I think it’s interesting to see the role of gender coming into play because we haven’t addressed the differences between male and female entrepreneurs in class yet. I agree with the writers statements on how the emotional nature of women can help them as well as hurt them in starting their own business. I’m sure that after starting their own company, women’s emotional tendencies are appreciated by their employees. Women may be more in tune to the feelings and reactions of their employees and therefore adjust policies in ways that will satisfy everyone. On the other hand, it makes sense that this character trait could inhibit the start-up process as well. The emotional characteristic could easily correlate with a hesitation to take risks, and the female entrepreneur may never have the courage to proceed with the business creation process.
