I am curious to see how the new amendments will ultimately effect the amount of capital raised under Reg A. I believe in the past it hasn’t been widely used. I agree with Ben Miller that Title III is tough because of the $1 million capital limitation.
I see that the regulation is a step in the right direction, but it still has its limitations for certain industries. The article states “a Reg A filing will probably take 4 to 6 months to get through the SEC. Most of the deals [Real Estate] need to close in 60 days”. Four to six months is still to long of a time period for a lot of deals. In the four to six months waiting for a real estate deal, the entire real estate market can change completely. Cutting the wait time from seven to eight months to four to six months is certainly a huge improvement, but it still needs to be shorter.
