Indeed, it is true that financial requirements to start a business can be a difficult burden for millenials to meet. For some, stability and predictability can be hard to pass up for an entrepreneurial dream.
I agree with James Schrader’s point that a big obstacle for new entrepreneurs is having 40% of the workforce leave. This means there are less people who can pass on their knowledge to young entrepreneurs. I think this hits on the point we discussed in class that a lot of entrepreneurs come from families of entrepreneurs where they had a chance to see what it takes to have the responsibility of running a business. Having this experience is invaluable, and is not easily duplicated. New entrepreneurs will have to find the right ways to network and seek mentorship. This may even be an area to create a networking agency that helps new entrepreneurs connect with mentors that have lots of experience in whatever field the entrepreneur is interested in.
