Currently before the Senate is the proposed Startup Act, which would afford visas to foreign entrepreneurs, who hold a master’s or doctorate degree in a STEM field, that start successful companies in the United States. Immigration seems to be a big issue with the upcoming election. As the world becomes more mobile, I think it will be important for the US to maintain its competitive edge by allowing easier access for qualified immigrants.
