Carly Dickson

Carly is a first year PhD student in the Archie Lab. She received her BS (2019) and MS (2021) from the University of Maine. She’s interested in studying within-host evolution of microbes as well as competition dynamics between pathogenic and commensal microbes and how these processes relate to host stress, fitness, and behavior. Before joining the Archie Lab she worked on projects researching host risk factors of pathogenic infections in moose, Asian elephants, and plains zebra. Carly also spent a year in Germany on a Fulbright scholarship surveying for zoonotic viruses in bats. Carly can be reached at cdickso2@nd.edu and found on Twitter, ResearchGate, and her personal website.
