Catherine Andreadis

Catherine began her PhD in the Archie lab in August 2022. She received a BS in Animal
Science from Cornell University in May 2022.

As an undergraduate, her research was primarily focused on various aspects of avian biology. She worked on a project investigating variation in the immune responses of Galapagos Finches to an  merging pathogen as well as in the Gyrfalcon. However, her main work was focused on investigating the functional role of the gut
microbiome in the physiology of House Sparrows. In the Archie lab, she’s interested in exploring the relationship between host physiology, the microbiome, and the immune system and  how this
pertains to animal health and fitness.
