A political social media startup, and the Startup Visa Act…

I thought you all might appreciate this story about Votizen, which describes the social media efforts to get the Startup Visa Act drafted and passed.  It’s a couple of years old (so we know the Act has stalled), but the story is interesting nevertheless.

  1. I think the premise of this article is interesting, but i wonder if there is a market in the U.S. for a company like Votizen. It seems like social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and even instagram have a firm grasp of the social media market (they have the most subscribers) and thus isn’t it the most efficient to funnel online political campaigns, voter awareness programs, etc… through those sites? In other words, what does a site like Votizen add that Facebook does not?
