This is a cool article about IBM’s AI research. They are using it to help fight crime, help poor people, and simplify the acquisition process. It’s cool to think about the impact AI will have on legal practice in the coming years.
Brian, thanks for posting. To be honest, I feel like AI-powered robots enforcing crime is a terrifying proposition. I don’t feel like AI-powered robots should be in a position where they need to make rational judgments, especially where the decisions those robots make could have far-reaching consequences on a person’s criminal history, future employment, and life in general. I am a luddite at heart though, and I generally resist broad-sweeping technological changes, so maybe I’m in the minority?
