ECON 43370 examines the nexus of financial crises and their implications for the macroeconomy. The focus will be on the two major crises in the US from the last hundred years – the Great Depression and the Great Recession. Several primary and secondary sources, including books and academic articles, will be assigned. Evaluation will be based on several short papers.
