Problem solving for MPT (Manual Paper Tray) on printers

1. Error message – wrong paper size (A4):
– slide the paper glider open so that it goes to the A4 mark
– you may have to change the direction of the paper – the screen on the printer will tell you which way to insert it.
2. Error message – wrong paper size or no paper
-reinsert paper (many times it is not fully inserted)
-slide the paper gliders so they are tight against the paper
-you may have to change the direction of the paper – the screen on the printer will tell you which way to insert it.

Also, keep in mind that, in some cases, the student has selected the wrong paper size. This usually happens when our international students choose the international paper size. When this happens, I usually cancel the print job and ask them to change the paper size on their computer print settings.
By the way, … A4 is an international size, but if you move the gliders to the A4 mark, it will still print and they do not waste any quota money.
