2023-24: The regular season and scheduling remained a post-COVID issue as tournaments were tough to come by and fewer teams were willing to travel outside of their CWPA schedule. That said, we did get a fall tournament at UVA which was a huge help to our season. Won the Midwest Championship at home in Rolf’s with an 11-5 win over Grand Valley, the team’s third in a row following the return from COVID. It marked the 15th time the team has won the Midwest Championship tied with Florida for the second most all-time (Cal Poly is 1st with 17). We received an automatic bid to Collegiate Club Nationals at Texas A&M; extending our CWPA record for most NCCC appearances to 17. We finished with our fourth highest finish at National, 5th place. We after some crazy travel delays including an unexpected overnight at O’Hare due to weather in Texas we made it to A&M only 2 hours before our first game. After shaking off some travel funk we beat the Rocky Mountain champion’s the University of Colorado in the first round. In the second round we played a very good and very deep UCLA team. We played a back and forth game. We took a one goal lead a couple minutes into the fourth quarter but ultimately lost a hard fought game by 2. We bounced back to take down Mid Atlantic champs West Chester University and a very solid and persistent Florida State team to finish 3-1 on the weekend and in 5th place. Grace Kellerman earned 1st team all tournament at Nationals. Seniors Grace Kellerman, Olivia Sanders, and Emily Shank, as well as Junior Lauren Rod Rodenberg were named 1st Team All Midwest Conference. Junior Rory Kilmer was named 2nd Team All Midwest. Olivia Sanders was named Midwest Conference MVP and Coughlin was named MW Coach of the Year. We also had 4 players earn All American status. Grace Kellerman was named a 1st Team All American (her third AA selection), Olivia Sanders was named 2nd Team All American (her third AA selection). Emily Shank was named 2nd Team All American (her second AA Selection). Lauren Rodenberg was named 3rd Team All American. We spent three weeks ranked #1 (or tied for #1) in the polls. We finished ranked #5 in the country, the fourth highest in program history. Our 19-2 overall record and our 19-1 record against other collegiate club teams were both records for winning percentage in team history. Team Captains were Grace Kellerman, Olivia Sanders, and Emily Shank.
