Season Recap:

2021-’22 It was a very strange year as it was the first season after returning from the COVID pandemic. We got off to a great start with a perfect weekend at the Irish Invite at Rolf’s by beating MSU, UofM and Oregon.  Coughlin did not go on Spring Break as CA was still not very open and the week was spent mostly in workouts.  SDSU hosted as did a club in Fullerton.  The best the team looked all year was at Midwest Championships.  Definitely peaked for that weekend.  Nationals was the weekend after Final Exams so we did not practice for 10 straight days before leaving.  Als the seeding at Nationals got pretty jumbled around due to teams not competing due to lingering COVID issues.  This resulted in us having to play UCSB (#6) in the first round.  The Game at Nationals vs. Grand Valley was one for the ages. It is the only undefeated regular season (pre-nationals) that we have EVER had resulting in the highest overall season winning percentage in the history of the program .900, previous high mark was .868 in 2009). We did not have a player selected to the NCCC team. We had three players named first team All-Midwest, Senior Molly Soper and Sophomores Grace Kellerman and Olivia Sanders.  Senior Lindsey Shank and Sophomore Emily Shank were  named to the second team.  Sophomore Grace Kellerman was named CWPA Midwest Conference MVP.  Coughlin was named Midwest Coach of the Year.  CWPA did not name All Americans in 2022 for the Women’s season.  Our highest ranking during the season was #1 after the Irish Invite, our final ranking after Nationals was #13. We spent most of the season in the top 5. Team Captains were Edie Uebelhor, Caitlin Llyod and Lindsey Shank.
