Season Recap:

2016-’17 Lost in the Midwest championship semifinal at Rolf’s to McKendree a first year Varsity program with a paid coach and scholarship players whom the CWPA allowed to play club in our conference as a warm up.  It snapped a National record 19 straight conference championship game appearances.  We bounced back the next day and defeated Lindenwood for third place in the conference.  The year was a challenging one.  A number of players quit during the season and the final roster was made up of only 11 highly committed players who played extremely hard and represented the program and themselves well.  We had no players named first team All-Midwest.  Caley Martinez, Kelly Fricke, and Sammy Henze were named second team.   We also had 2 players named All American: Senior Caley Martinez and Sophomore Kelly Fricke were named Honorable Mention All American.  We were 0-2 against Varsity competition depending on how you classify McKendree, 1-0 against Masters club teams and 14-5 against college club teams.  Our highest ranking during the season was #5, our final ranking after not qualifying for Nationals was #16. Team Captains were Caley Martinez, Katie Cullinan and Sammy Henze.
