Notre Dame lost to Miami in overtime at Rolfs Aquatic Center for the Midwest Championship. That year, they received the Midwest bid to the first ever Club Nationals in Tuscon, AZ where they went 2-2 and placed 7th. The Fighting Irish beat Dartmouth and Northern, AZ and lost to Chico and University of Arizona. Miami, OH declined the bid that first year due to conflicts with their graduation ceremony. Lauren Kuzinar and Liz Parolin were first team All-Midwest. Val Simone, Jen Beranek and Lisa Thomas were second team. Team Captains were Jen Beranek, Laurie Healy and Lisa Thomas.
