Notre Dame Women’s Latest Updates, Gear and ND Day

Hi Water Polo Alums, Family, and Friends! We hope you have all had FJ filled 2016s so far!
The Latest:
This year we added 15 freshmen to the roster, outnumbering our 10 upper classmen and officially giving us the youngest team ND Women’s Water Polo has ever seen. This has given us new energy plus a new edge that helped us crush a successful weekend at Lindenwood Invitational this past weekend going 3-0. We plan to keep the ball rolling as we gear up for Midwest Qualifiers next weekend. Gear:
This year we will be using student shop to sell gear to friends, family and wopo alums. This is a trial for us, but if all goes well then in the future you can have access to Notre Dame Women’s Water Polo gear all year round and can pay online instead of sending us a check or cash in the mail! Hurray!!
IMPORTANT: If you are interested in any of the gear as seen below and in the attached images, please fill out there google doc below so we know how much interest there is/ how much inventory we should order of each item by Midnight Monday February 15th as we will be submitting the order request form on the 16th. The gear takes about 3-6weeks to arrive so we should have it up on the site sometime in March! Yay!

Get ready for Notre Dame’s second annual global celebration of the University’s mission which will be broadcast live online! Its purpose is to engage, inform, and inspire people to take action and give back to the university.

’15/’16 Blue Gold Match

As an end to pre-season workouts and serving as a good stress relieving activity before finals, the Notre Dame Women’s Club Water Polo Team held their annual Blue-Gold Game.  This growing tradition has drawn many alums, parents and friends over to the Rolfs Aquatic Center to cheer on their friends in the pool.  This year, captains Maddie Renezeder (Gold Team) and Colleen Fricke (Blue Team) had chosen teams each with their own unique sets of skills and strengths.  In the end, Blue Team took the prize after a long hard fought battle, ending in the the score of 6 – 3.  It was a close game and yet, it grants the Blue Team bragging rights for this season.  The intersquad scrimmage served to show the promise that this year’s team has and highlights the competitive edge that will drive them to success.  In all, it was a fantastic game.  Many thanks to our coach, Brian Coughlin for his guidance and reffing as well as to the Notre Dame Men’s Water Polo Team for working the table and scoreboard.
