Hi, I’m Gunnar, a 5th year Nuclear Physics PhD student. I’ve been working with Pelletron Tandem Particle Accelerators since my first summer during my undergraduate degree and continue to do so at Notre Dame. The machine has always fascinated me with all of it’s working parts as well as its many applications. The applications that most interest me are those in the applied science field such as scanning materials with PIGE/PIXE for dangerous elements in particular looking for particulate matter pollution in aerosols. Outside of physics I’m interested in disc golf, ultimate frisbee, and music!
