[August 1st, 2018] Great conference at ICCCN 2018 in Hangzhou, China. Had a chance to catch up with lots of familiar faces now having attended ICCCN for the past 7 years straight. Great to meet up with my former student, Qi Liao, who also had a paper at ICCCN. On Wednesday, I presented our base work on Fast Mobile Network Characterization (FMNC) which was an invited paper at ICCCN. A really solid work done by my student that has laid the foundation on much of our work in this area.
[June 15, 2018] Great workshop in Amsterdam for NOSSDAV 2018. I had the pleasure of presenting my student Lixing’s paper entitled “SEWS: A Channel-Aware Stall-Free WiFi Video Streaming Mechanism” at the workshop in addition to serving as a session chair for the first session. Very well attended workshop and lots of great questions.
[June 1, 2018] I will be joining the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing as an Associate Editor. Looking forward to serving the community in this new exciting role.

[April 15, 2018] I am happy to announce that I will be serving on the inaugural editorial board for the soon to be launched IEEE Networking Letters. Many thanks to George (EiC) and Christos (Associate EiC) for the invite.
[April 19, 2018] I had the privilege of serving on a panel on Machine Learning in Networking at INFOCOM 2018. The panel was exceptionally well attended (pictures soon). One key outcome is that we will be putting together a survey paper on machine learning in networking as a basic overview. Fantastic panel and great audience questions.
[February 28th, 2018] A very nice piece by Jess Arnold from ABC57 on the security of Amazon Alexa and other always-on devices entitled “Privacy and security: asking Amazon Alexa if your data is secure“.
