The Fighting Irish begin the 2015 season with the CWPA Midwest Qualifying tournament this coming weekend. Lindenwood University will be hosting at the Rec Plex Center in St. Peters, MO. Calling all the St. Louis Irish fans to come out and cheer for the Women’s Water Polo Team! See the “Schedule” page for more details regarding game times.
Though the weekend was cold and wet, the Notre Dame Women’s Water Polo team celebrated it’s 20th Water Polo Season with a reunion. It started off with a scrimmage/game of sorts at Rolfs Aquatic Center. The first half was alumni vs. current players. The alumni had strong representation with members from the classes of 2003 to 2014 and only lost by two points to the current players. The second half of the game put even graduating years against odd graduating years, blending alums with current players. This resulted in a tied game at the end of two quarters, leading to a man-up/man-down best of five for each team. The odd years won by 1 point! Goes to show that our “legendary” coach, Brian Coughlin, hasn’t changed strong methods throughout the years with such evenly matched games. The following day, many players met up at the Harig Family Tailgate to get ourselves energized to cheer on the football team. The weekend provided a great opportunity for current players to connect with alums and for the alums to reconnect with the glory days of years past. We look forward to having another reunion opportunity, potentially next year. The difficulty with scheduling the exact weekend has to do with organizing around the swim team’s schedule. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out and to the Harig family for welcoming us to your tailgate on Saturday! Go Irish!
The schedule for the Midwest Championships is posted and has been slightly revised. The starting times on both Saturday and Sunday remain the same. However, there are slight game time changes on Saturday’s schedule. Visit the “Schedule” page for more details.

We are extremely happy to host you for the 2014 Irish Invitational! If at any time over the course of the weekend you need assistance or directions, please do not hesitate to ask any one of our players. Below is some necessary and important information regarding the weekend.
– The NCAA is hosting the Women’s Basketball Regional at the Joyce Center (building pool is attached to) on Saturday. Therefore, we suggest and would love if all guests could please park in the B2 Library Lot on Saturday and walk down Leahy Drive to the pool. Friday and Sunday the C1 Lot will not be as hectic.

– There are several places on campus within walking distance of the pool for meals. The first is Legends of Notre Dame (click walking icon for direct path from the pool), which is a casual dining restaurant with a Notre Dame theme. The second is the LaFortune Student Center (click walking icon for direct path from the pool), which has a Subway, Taco Bell/Pizza Hut, Burger King and Starbucks.
– If you would like to go off campus for meals, there are many choices. There are many options on Grape Road and Main Street in Mishawaka.
