As someone who has never been outside of the US, I believe that I need to acquire experience abroad prior to my Spring 2023 semester abroad in Santiago, Chile. I chose Buenos Aires, Argentina because it is not only a naturally beautiful country, but also the intriguing national history and culture excites me to gain speaking proficiency in Spanish. I have wanted to place myself in an immersive environment where I would be forced to speak Spanish constantly. An experience like this would allow me to gain the confidence and proficiency I will need to become the global citizen I know I can be.
