TheThe Mausoleum of Hadrian, usually known as Castel Sant’Angelo, is located in Parco Adriano, Rome. Built between 134 and 139 AD, it was commissioned by the Roman Emporer Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. It has served as a papal fortress, and angels are said to have appeared atop the structure. Today it is a museum.
